History
By James Dyer
The Hong Kong Seniors Golf Society was founded in December 2000.  Although the Hong Kong Golf Association has its own seniors competitions, our society really evolved from the Seniors Golf sub-committee that was set up by the Golf Association in 1999.  The society was set up to focus on and look after the needs of Hong Kong senior golfers.  Although our golf society is independent of the golf association, we retain a cordial relationship with the association and our members are encouraged to have HKGA-recognised handicaps.  Eight tournaments were held in 2001 and the number of these has increased annually to thirty three due to be held in 2006.  Competitions are held, usually on a Monday, at the Hong Kong Golf Club, at the Fanling and Deep Water Bay courses, Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Club, and also, at Macau Golf and Country Club, Chung Shan Golf Club, Lakewood Golf Club, and at other clubs in southern China.

The principal aim of our society remains the promotion and improvement of senior golf in Hong Kong.
